Micro-Pigmentation frequently asked questions

Will the treatment cause me pain?

The treatment is non-intrusive with the ink inserted into the epidermis level of the skin, not causing the skin to break, swell, scab or bleed. Please have a look at a short video where we explain this:

How many treatments do I need and how long do I have to wait between treatments?

On average you will need 2-4 sessions to fully complete your look, but treatment frequency will depend on your needs. It is recommended that you allow 7-10 days between each session to allow the skin time to heal.

Will Scalp Micro Pigmentation damage my existing hair or cause hair loss?

Scalp Micro Pigmentation is cosmetic and in no way damages hair growth, and if anything it increases hair growth.

Will Scalp Micro Pigmentation give me a natural look?

Absolutely! Scalp Micro Pigmentation gives the head a full-shaven head of hair look, and your colour tone will be matched for a natural look. Please check the picture of our previous customers by visiting our SMP before and after gallery or hair tattoo before and after page.

What happens if I have had a hair transplant? Can I still have Scalp Micro Pigmentation treatment?

You certainly can, however, if you are thinking about which treatment to go for, I recommend Scalp Micro Pigmentation. However, if you have had a hair transplant over 12 months ago, Scalp Micro Pigmentation treatment is also an option as scar camouflage can be used to conceal any unsightly areas by the careful placing of impressions amongst the scar tissue to remove the contrast between skin and hair.

How long do the results last?

The results last up to four years with top-up sessions advised at least every 12-24 months to build intensity. With regular top-ups, there is no reason why your results can’t be permanent.

How much does SMP treatment cost?

The cost of the treatment depends on the client so it is not possible to say without consultation. You can find more information about this by reading our blog post Scalp micropigmentation cost. Please contact us and book a free, no-obligation consultation and get detailed information about pricing.
